Biographical data

Studied Art History and History at Amsterdam University, graduation in 1973. Received rabbinic ordination from the Leo Baeck College, London in 1978. Curator of the Jewish Historical Museum Amsterdam till 2013. Currently rabbi in Göttingen (2017-; 2002-2009); Schleswig-Holstein (2016-) and before that in the Liberal Communities of Hamburg (2006-2011), Munich (1998–2001), Cologne (1996–2001) and Arnhem (1978-1998, 2002-2004).
Regular guest lecturer at universities in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the United States of America.
